Tunisian Motifs
Forever 50% OFF
It’s going to be three years since I started updating my old patterns to bring them in line with my current standards, and I have now come to realize that some of them will probably never be updated, either because I have gifted the samples and cannot make nice photos, or I simply don’t have enough time, etc.
So I decided to let go of this idea and just allow those earlier patterns to be, well, my earlier patterns reflecting me as a designer at that stage of my professional development.
Instead, I am changing the pricing for those older patterns. They are now 50% less, and this is not a discount, but their permanent price from now on. You can purchase these patterns here, on Ravelry where I have grouped them into a separate bundle.
Happy crocheting!
Tunisian Motifs is an interesting and fun combination of motif crochet and Tunisian crochet techniques.
Each motif is worked separately in short rows, using a regular crochet hook, and joined to other motifs as you go. The joining method creates a delicate netting pattern to show off the circular motifs to full effect.
The pattern includes four different shapes, with yardage estimates, so you can easily crochet the wrap you prefer: a scarf, a stole, a shawlette or a shawl. Each shape can be modified to make it wider or longer.
Materials
- Yarn: Macas by Filitaly, 60% alpaca, 20% merino, 20% nylon, 710yd (650m) per 100g skein or any fingering/sport weight yarn
- Regular crochet hook: US H (5mm)
- Yarn needle to weave in ends
Gauge
One motif = 3½’’ (9cm) in diameter
Yardage
14yd (13m) per one motif
Skill Level
The pattern assumes basic familiarity with Tunisian crochet, specifically how each row is worked as two separate passes and how to work Tunisian simple stitch. Find Tunisian crochet glossary at www.msweaver.com/tutorials/tunisian-crochet/.
The pattern has been professionally tech-edited. It contains a photo-tutorial and written out instructions.
