Tunisian Placemats
I really love the tunisian crochet-knit stitch - it’s great for placemats and kitchen cloths/potholders - as well as scarves.
I used an ombre/multicolored/variegated Red Heart yarn to make these easy placemats - they are thick enough to protect your dining table, and the simple tunisian stitch (TS) makes it look like weaving. I added fringe on the ends, which is optional. I also recommend crocheting around the entire project (stated in the pattern) for a few rounds and this will keep your placemat from curling.
If you are still curling, then you are probably too tight and need to go to a bigger hook.
ENJOY!
