Tunisian Zen Cowl
The Tunisian Zen Cowl is designed specifically to promote mindfulness while crafting. The pattern itself is simple, but to stay on track it is necessary to count stitches. The simple act of counting combined with the soothing nature of Tunisian Crochet calms a stressed mind and fosters peacefulness in the body.
You may find soothing music or a favorite candle enhances your mood while crocheting this piece.
The Tunisian Zen Cowl is designed for a fingering weight yarn, but can easily be made in any weight by simply adjusting your hook size. The heavier the weight of yarn, the more plush your cowl will be! This pattern is worked flat, then seamed to create a cowl shape that will wrap twice around your neck and fit snugly. You can easily increase or decrease the length of your finished project by adding/subtracting pattern repeats. You can also forgo seaming altogether and make a scarf!
This pattern uses approximately 700 yards of fingering weight yarn. While the original sample is worked in two colors, feel free to let your imagination run wild! You can use a single color, a gradient cake, or stripe in minis. Whatever yarn you choose, I recommend picking a skein that brings you joy. Everything about this project, from the yarn to the finished object, should promote a sense of well-being for you.
