Tuonelan virta is worked from the bottom up. The sweater has colourwork in the hem, cuffs and yoke. The sleeves have a double cuff and neckline worked in the contrast colour. You can also work regular sleeves, but you will need to prepare with more of the main colour.

You can substitute Ístex Léttlopi with another worsted or aran weight yarn (or any yarn you can get gauge with). Great alternatives are for example Finnish Vuonue Manta and Usko, Danish BC Garn Northern Lights, French Biches et Bûches Le Gros Lambswool or US Magpie Fibers Nest Worsted.
