Turath
Turath is a celebration of heritage. With this design I have brought together attributes from both my English and Yemeni heritage.
Turath is the Arabic word for heritage.
This design is a fusion of East and West, with interlocking bands of stocking and reverse stocking stitch that form a texture resembling the surface of dry stone walls, often seen throughout the English country side. The reverse presents as a kind of quatrefoil pattern, often seen in Middle Eastern architecture and decorative tiling.
The pattern is formed using slipped stitches.
It comes in two sizes (short/long).
Sample is shown in short version.
Half of all proceeds from the sales of Turath will be donated to charities that work with refugees.
