Turkey is famous with it’s traditional heavy-sugary sweets like ‘baklava’, ‘lokum’, and ‘pishmanie (пишманье)’, and ‘Turkish Delights’ are boxes full of variety of those sweets sold to the tourists.
The fancy yarn I used in this project is a Turkish brand yarn (Alize) and is so soft, and colors are so sweet and tender, that my immediate association when I first touched it was pishmanie – sort of spun-sugar (candy-floss) sweets that melt in your mouth.
This is an easy and fast going project for a beginner with a traditional top-down construction. 3 types of yarns are used - bulky as a main yarn, contrasting color yarn of similar weight and small quantity of fancy (novelty) yarn to give some 3-dimentional interest.
