This fun little mug rug is based on the “Turkish Crochet Stitch #3” by ellej.org.

For the yarn I used Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend in Driftwood, but you can use any 3-light yarn that is tightly twisted. If your yarn is loose or fuzzy you’ll have difficulty with the stitches.

After crocheting you adhere a piece of felt to the back for stability and to keep liquids from dripping through.

This rug works up quickly enough to make many as gifts, but you’ll enjoy using it yourself!
