Hand made crochet appliques can be used to embellish just about anything, from bags to jackets, from pillow covers to baby blankets. They will surely give all those items a lovely personal touch.

This pattern describes using US terminology how to crochet a turtle applique as shown on picture.

Size of the big turtle will be approx. 2.2” tall (5.5 cm), 2.9” wide (7.5 cm), made of 8 ply / dk acrylic yarn and hook size G (4 mm).

The size of the smaller turtle will be approx. 1.6” tall (4 cm), 2.2” wide (5.5 cm), made of 5 ply / sport cotton yarn and hook size C (2.5 mm).

You can make smaller or taller versions of this applique by using thicker or thinner yarn.

Gauge is not important for this pattern, just work tight enough so your crochet will not show holes.
