These yarn keepers (or, in this case, a ‘sweater’) are especially handy for knitters who prefer to work while they walk.

Worked in an easy 2x2 rib, they act as a ‘girdle’ to keep that yarn cake (stretchy enough for those humongous commercial cakes) from wandering all over the place, because as we all know, just because the yarn is in a center-pull cake, doesn’t mean it’s going to behave itself, and stay in one spot.

There are no specific gauge requirements for this pattern, and if a larger or smaller size is required, use either different sized needles, or adjust the stitch count my 4.

Knowledge of stitches required:

Cast-on, Knit, Purl, K2T (knit 2 together), P2T (Purl 2 together), SSK (Slip 2 stitches knitwise, slip 2 stitches knitwise, shift them back to the left needle, then knit both together through the back), PM (Place Marker), 2x2Rib (K2,P2)
