“Tusk” is a slipover with an unusual construction using two different rib patterns, of which one is worked with a slant. At one sideline, the slanted ribs of back and front meet, starting with a slit (or rather a gap shaped as a triangle). Thus, the slipover is worked bottom-up and open (although back and front are worked in one piece, over right sideline), and seamed at the left sideline.

Needles: Main needle size is 2,75mm; 2,5mm needle used for edges, 2,0mm for picking up stitches.
Gauge: 26 sts x 40 rows in 1x1 and 2x2 rib patterns, after washing and a good blocking.
Worked at 24 sts on 10cm, the piece will get approx. 1 size bigger.

Approx. 900/ 1000/ 1100/ 1200/ 1300 m of a (Light) Fingering (or Heavy Lace) weight yarn needed.
For my sample, I have used Strikdesign MerinoYak bought at Fanö Festival 2023 (90% wool, 10% Yak, 250m/ 50g). Rennie or Holst Supersoft would be a good substitute, or any thin wool yarn which brings out ribs nicely.
