Introducing the Tutti-Frutti Brooch and Hair Clip, a recreation of Carmen Miranda’s strawberries from the 1943 film The Gang’s All Here!

These little strawberries are knit in the round and are entirely seamless. This project uses the pre-strung method of beading, and only takes 66 beads per strawberry. It is a great beginner bead project. After the knitting is finished, it’s time for assembly! Choose from either inserting a hair clip or pin-back to the felt back and voila, your tutti-frutti accessory is complete!

This project also comes with a full video tutorial which walks you through the beading, colorwork knitting, and assembly steps.

Tutti-Frutti is a fantastic stash buster project. The strawberries take under 40 yards of red, and only 5 yards of green! Not only is this a good stash buster, but it is super speedy! These strawberries can be finished in a day, even if this is your first beading project. The beading is going to go way faster than you think, and the assembly process is quick too, thanks to the addition of super glue.

This pattern is available only at Squid’s School of Vintage Knitting! Come join in the Carmen Miranda fun!
