Tuttu juttu is an easy summer dress. You can use your creativity to create it your own!

This short-sleeved summer dress has stripes with smooth transitions. They are knit using two strands of light fingering weight yarn together. When changing colours for stripes, two yarns of different colours are marled together.

You can choose pretty much any material you want. It could be wool, linen, silk, cotton – the choice is yours. The sample was knitted with soft light fingering bourette silk held double. You can use stash yarn, small skeins or mix your special one-of-a-kind skeins. You can work Tuttu juttu dress with two colours or create multicoloured stripes reminding you of important memories.

Tuttu juttu has a simple raglan construction with generous proportions. It is worked top down. It has two small pockets on the front. The yoke is without any shaping, front and back are identical. The lower part of body has a slight A-line. The sleeves are short and the cuffs are shaped with some short rows which cover partly the upper part of arm. The neckline and hem have some purl rounds to stop the edge from rolling.

You can use any light fingering weight yarn held double, but this may affect the size and drape of the dress, your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles: US #2.5(3,0) circulars of 40 and 80 cm.

Notions: Tapestry needle, different stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn.

Gauge for stockinette in the round with yarn held double:
22 sts ja 28 rows = 4 x 4 inches / 10 x 10 cm with US#2.5(3,0) needles, wet blocked.

Tuttu juttu on helppo kesäinen mekko, jossa voit käyttää omaa luovuuttasi.

Lyhythihainen kesämekko neulotaan raidalliseksi kahdesta ohuesta langasta lanka kaksinkertaisena. Raidat neulotaan kahdella samanvärisellä langalla ja raitojen vaihtumiskohdissa tehdään kaksi kerrosta kaksi eriväristä lankaa yhdessä, jolloin raitojen väri vaihtuu liukuen.

Materiaali voi olla melkein mitä vain: villaa, kesäiseen päivään sopivaa pellavaa, silkkiä, puuvillaa, oman mielen mukaan. Mallimekko on neulottu pehmeästä bourette-silkistä kaksinkertaisena. Lanka on light fingering -vahvuista. Mekkoon voi hyvin käyttää jämälankoja omista varastoista. Myös pienet erikoisvyyhdit, yksittäiset sukkalankavyyhdit, tai muista projekteista ylijääneet langat sopivat. Mekon voi neuloa kahdella värillä, tai raidoittaa siihen omat tutut muistot monin värein.

Mekko on malliltaan yksinkertainen raglan ja mitoitukseltaan reilu. Se neulotaan ylhäältä alas. Edessä on kaksi upotettua pikkutaskua. Kaarroketta ei muotoilla, vaan mekko on edestä ja takaa samanlainen. Helmaosa on A-linjainen. Hihat ovat kesäisen lyhyet ja hihansuut muotoillaan lyhennetyin kerroksin, jolloin hiha peittää hieman käsivarren yläosaa. Kaula-aukon ja helman reunoilla neulotaan nurjia kerroksia, jotka estävät reunojen rullautumisen.
