Recommended yarn for a felted penguin is Wool of the Andes Worsted Weight in Coal, Semolina and choice of color for hat with Bare Merino Style DK Yarn. For a non-felted penguin Wool of the Andes Sport Weight (held double) in Coal, White, Semolina, and choice of color for hat. These yarns are available from Knit Picks. A small amount of polyfil stuffing is also needed.

Difficulty: Intermediate; requires knitting in the round, increases, decreases, and knitting with multiple strands at a time.

Finished measurements: A felted penguin made with WOTA worsted weight yarn and Merino Style DK yarn will be about 4 inches tall. A non-felted penguin knit with a double strand of WOTA sport weight yarn will be about 5 inches tall.
