The pattern comes in 2 sizes: 12-14 and 16-18. Remember, these are 1949-era sizes. Minerva Yarns Knitting Worsted apparently came in skeins of 280 yards per skein.
No information is given on the size and number of buttons needed. Instructions are given for 5 buttonholes, but according to the photo 10 buttons were used to give a double-breasted look.
