This pattern is just a chart of how I worked my mittens. The mitten is started with the smaller needle working 3 inches of 2x2 ribbing, then switching to the larger needle to start the stranding. If, however, you use the smallest needle to complete the entire project, you will have a size small mitten instead of a size large. The mittens are finished by being grafted at the top.
The pair of mittens use approximately 50-200 yards of each color of yarn. I used almost all of the brown and orange, but barely any of the other colors.
These mittens are a combination of many patterns I have admired over the years. Thank you to heddaknits for letting me borrow her palm pattern, Silberwulf for her large bird pattern, and EvaKatharina for her bird and vine pattern.
This pattern should be very straightforward for those who have knit colorwork mittens from charts before now; I would not, however, recommend this as a first pattern.
