My daughter was expecting twins and I couldn’t find an easy pattern that would work for boys and girls. This pattern works for either and buttonhole placement is just a matter of flipping it inside out!

NOTE: I used 5/8” buttons which are a little loose in the buttonholes. A quick fix for this is to either use 1” buttons or just ch 1, sk 2 for buttonholes.
