This is the little sister/brother of my tested pattern:

I enjoyed the patterns so much, and wanted to use them again.

The child version has the addition of a hoodie, but might as well be worked as a traditional cardigan with a neckline.

Construction
The cardigan is completely seam-less.
The lower body is worked bottom-up in one piece to underarms,
where work is divided and fronts and upper back are worked in separate pieces.
The sleeves are worked top-down from picked-up sts around the armhole openings. The sleeve-cap is created by short-row shaping, the main sleeve is worked top down and in-the-round.
The hoodie is worked from picked up and live sts in one piece.
The frontband around the hoodie and the button-bands are worked in one piece from picked-up sts.

Sizes
Finished chest circumference, when buttoned: 3 - 6 months: 48 cm/19” 9 months – 1 year: 52 cm/20” 1 year – 18 months: 55 cm/21.5” 2 – 3 years: 58 cm/23” 4 – 5 years 64 cm/25”.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend a fingering weight yarn with great stitch-definition that knits up to gauge. I used Merino Singles from Martins Lab., in the colourway Cerulan, to work the cardigan. This fingering weight yarn comes in skeins of 100 gr/3.53 oz, and 366 m/400 yards.
Of this specific yarn you will need approximately 320/360/400/480/580 m = 350/395/430/535/635 yards.
Needle size: 3 mm/US2.5
Notions: 4 removable stitch-marker, buttons 13 - 15 mm/0.5 – 0.7” across. Separate holders. Tapestry needle. Blocking tools. A row-counter is useful.

Gauge
26 sts and 38-40 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”
