I put the name of this scarf out for suggestion on my Facebook page. Mine was “Flock of Birds,” but I preferred the name “Twilight,” (thank you Scott!) as it evokes so many things. The colour of the sky against trees in the evening--green against blue, pink, purple and mauve. It also marks a time when I let my grey go (thankfully 2019 marks the trend as grey being the new blond), but also I’m now in my fifties (the twilight years perhaps) and my years as a designer have come full circle.

I left the designing world after my book, because of two consecutive frozen shoulders (not at the same time, but delayed my knitting four years), a forefinger surgery (no knitting for some time then too) and then family deaths.

I’m back to this close hub of this vast knitting circle called Ravelry and mark it with “Twilight” -- what I hope is the first of many more designs.

TWILIGHT:
While variegated and fading yarns seem to be the trend, I would be just as happy to see this scarf in a muted gray solid. However, I couldn’t resist this – yarn by MINEVILLE WOOL PROJECT from Nova Scotia. If you haven’t discovered their yarns, you are in for a treat! I worked the scarf in two pieces and grafted together to keep the integrity of the edging and hole directions in the Pattern St. Scarf will roll into itself here and there. I’m OK with that. I hope you are too! Also, if you want different skeins to blend in artisanal one-of-a-kind wool dyes, work 2 rows in one, then 2 rows in another, etc to prevent a slightly obvious change.
