Twine and Twig Mittens
With Winter comes so many wonderful things, one of my favourite pastimes in the cold weather is to go on chilly walks in nature, wrapped up in all the woolly things. Responsibly foraging for Winter goodness to bring into our home is one of the traditions we are creating. These mittens are inspired on this new tradition, walking through the woods, stumbling over exposed roots and being enthralled by the colours and smells of the forest.
There is so much texture within nature during this time of year and this is translated into the stitch pattern. Twig-like texture is worked up the back of the hand with delicate eyelets and purl bumps, like the berries on the trees which provide so much for all the creatures of the woods.
Worked on DPNs (but easily worked with magic loop) these mittens are the perfect staple for the colder weather.
