Twine Bag
This little handbag was designed to utilise and showcase the versatility of crochet and characteristics of twine. When crocheted, the texture and firmness of this natural fibre makes a unique fabric that lends itself well to projects such as this.
Nutscene twine was originally green and designed to be ‘not seen’ when used to tie up plants, hence the name! This jute twine however is designed to be seen, comes in 22 colours and is now made just up the road from the original ‘Juteopolis’ (Dundee) in Angus.

PATTERN NOTES
Twine can be difficult to work with but is well worth the finished result. As your fingers get used to it you may only be able to work in short bursts.
Work in a well-ventilated room or outside - the twine does shed which reduces when blocked.
To make a multi colour version, fasten off after the slip stitch join at the end of a round and then join the new colour in the first corner. All ends are woven in at the back using a smaller hook
