Twined Golf Headcovers
I recently learned about Scandinavian twined knitting and thought this technique would make a very nice thick and sturdy golf headcover so I set to work designing a pattern.
The top part of this pattern is constructed with the “twining” technique using two different colors of yarn. For these headcovers, you use the two colors of yarn simultaneously and change colors on each stitch over an uneven number of stitches.
When changing colors, you must always bring the working yarn over the yarn you just knit. Because of this, the yarn gets very twisted and you will need to untwist your skeins/balls of yarn frequently. It is labor intensive, but the end result is substantial cushioned golf headcover. And as it is a small project, it is a great one to give twined knitting a try.
The two sides will look quite different so you can use either side out…whatever you prefer. You may also, of course, only use one color of yarn but will need still need to be working with two separate threads and being sure to twist them consistently as you knit.
Here are two good videos that demonstrate how to do twined knitting at:

All efforts were made to make this pattern error-free. It is intended for individual home use only and not to be reproduced or re-knit for profit.
