Hello Dear Crochet Friend,

In my little part of the world all my family and friends refer to me as Mrs Claus because of my love for Christmas. My children are grown now and Christmas in our home is a little more sedate. These days I find combining my love for crochet and for Christmas can bring joy to others all around the world. I love to make Wreaths of all sizes and decided to write a pattern for them. This one is a cute little wreath that is quick and easy to make. You can decorate your tree and home or give them as gifts or pop them on you gift wrapping.

Skill Level: Beginner and up.

Materials Required

  • 1 x 10g ball of Scheepjes Catona 8ply cotton (your colour choice for
    covering ring)
  • 3 metres of the each of the following colours in Scheepjes Catona 8 ply cotton—Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Dark Grey (these are for the lights and the cord)
  • 2.5mm or 3mm Crochet Hook (depending on your tension)
  • Timber or plastic ring measuring approx. 50mm
  • Scissors
  • Yarn Needle

Pattern Notes

  • If you wish to use a larger ring then adjust your beginning CH for the cover to make sure it will wrap around and just keep measuring the length until you have a firm fit around the outside edge of the ring.
  • You can use any 8 ply yarn…I just prefer the Scheepjes Catona Cotton

Stitches required (ST or ST’s means Stitch or Stitches)
CH – Chain
DC – Double Crochet UK Terms or SC - Single Crochet Us Terms
SL ST – Slip Stitch
MC—Magic Circle

There is US and UK Terms files available

I originally designed this cute little Christmas decoration for a bit of fun at the Crochet Retreat 2021 run by Crochet Australia. Now that we have held this event I thought I would share it as a free pattern and spread the Christmas Cheer.

I hope you enjoy it.
Love and Blessings Shaz
