Twinkle is a baby hat with a solid crown followed by a band of lace that forms a series of starbursts just before the brim. It uses relatively small amounts of yarn - perfect for busting through those leftover odds and ends! The lace portion is best worked in a soft, lighter worsted weight yarn to prevent it from becoming too stiff.

As written, the pattern creates a solid triangle in the center back of the lace band. As an alternative, one of my testers figured out a clever way to make the lace continue all the way around.
