Twinset Tank
Kits for this tank are available here: https://www.purlsofwisdompa.com/kits/tops-and-sweater-kit...
Twinset tank and cardi are two complimentary patterns that both use lace edging detail-the tank at the bottom, the cardigan on the sleeves. Look for the cardigan pattern soon.
Paired with the cardigan, this is a three season garment, which is ideal when going in and out of air conditioning. The pattern is written for a one set twelve row repeat of lace, but you can customize by adding repeats.
Worked from bottom up, the neck shaping is done after the sleeve separation when the garment is knit flat.
Our samples are knit in dk weight yarn, with Gedifra Cuor di Cotone or Juniper Moon Farm Zooey, the former with all cotton content and the latter with a cotton linen blend. For a jazzier look, check out the allover lace sample done in KPC Glencoul (a cotton- wool blend) held together with Ito Kin Gin for extra sparkle. If using Kin Gin or any carry along, you need the same yardage as the other yarn.
Yarn yardage and needles/Notions:
You will need a circular needle in a size to complete gauge in a circumference wide enough for the body 24”, 32” or 40” circular needles for body (depending on your size), size16” circular needles for neck and armhole openings, stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Samples done in Cuor di Cotone (seafoam) and Zooey (teal) are size medium. The Glencoul dk/Kin Gin (all over lace pattern) is size X-S.
Sizes are XS (28-30) S (32-34”) M (36-38”), L (40-42”), X-L (46-48”), {2XL (50-52”) , 3XL (54-56”), 4XL (58-60”)}. One to two inches of positive ease is built into this measurement. If you want a tighter fit, go down a size.
Yarn yardage:4 (5,6 6,7 ) {8,9,10] skeins of Gedifra Cuor di Cotone 50 grams 100% cotton 120 meters/131 yards or approximately 524 (655, 786, 786, 917) 1048, 1179, 1310 yards of a dk weight yarn.
If you have never done lace before, this is a good pattern to start. The lacework is simple, using yo’s and decreases and there is not a lot of it, so you can get your feet wet but not drown.
