This is a relatively easy but satisfying pattern. Work proceeds without regard to BOR, and is done in a spiral with each round leaning a little further to the right. This achieves a lovely twist pattern the height of the hat, and finishes with judicious decreases in pattern to complete the spiral effect.

Worked best in crisp, solid colour yarn, such as Paton’s Decor in Country Blue, or Bendigo Woolen Mills Luxury 10 ply in Gold.
