MOSAIC OVERLAY TECHNIQUE. This simple pattern is a 14 stitches wide on the horizontal repeat, but long (42 rows on the vertical repeat). It is a simple pattern though with no fancy stitches (just DC and SC).

It could be used with any weight yarn, and made any size, as long as the width is multiples of 14. It would make a lovely scarf, baby blanket, or bedspread even!

My sample (pictures in pattern) were made with 4.5 mm hook and 4/worsted weight Red Heart yarn. I used Ombre toned yarn for background and navy solid for design/border).
