The Twist Market Bag is a casual carryall designed in two sizes to suit your reusable bag needs. This bag is worked in the round with no seaming and minimal finishing. Skills needed are working in the round, knit, purl, binding off and casting on, k2tog and YO. The top of the bag is cast on, and then handles are bound off and cast on in the following row. The body of the bag is made up of simple twisting stripes of stockinette stitch and easy lace mesh. With its large capacity, the Twist Market Bag would be a great accessory for holding all of your family’s necessities for a day at the beach or pool or carrying your purchases from the farmer’s market.

Directions are given for the tall bag (with directions for the wide bag in italics). The blue tall bag is shown holding four folded bath towels and the purple wide bag is shown holding eight rolled beach towels. The bags were designed to be knit in Brown Sheep Serendipity Tweed, but another worsted weight cotton-blend or cotton yarn can easily be substituted. As pictured, the bags were knit with 179g (2 skeins) and 261g (3 skeins) of Serendipity Tweed, leaving plenty of excess yarn to account for differences between knitters. If you choose a different yarn, check the yardage per skein as there can be a lot of variation among cotton yarns.

ST40 Colorado Columbine, 2 skeins (I used 179 g, approx. 376 yds, for the sample)
ST93 Victorian Purple, 3 skeins (I used 261 g, approx. 548 yds, for the sample)

1 US #8 / 5 mm circular needle, 24-inch
