Twisted Eyelet Rib Panel
This quick and easy afghan panel was inspired by a stitch pattern in A Compendium of Knitted Stitch Patterns by Hollingworth, 1985, p. 114. I added 2 extra rib rows to elongate the look and added ribbing all around. This panel has a repeat of 5 stitches; it can be made wider or skinnier by adding or subtracting stitches in multiples of 5. The cable-look needs no cable needle, making this pattern faster to work.
Skills needed: long-tail cast on, knit, purl, slip, PSSO (pass slipped stitch over 2 sts), yarn over and rib bind off.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check size and appearance.
11 yards will make about 11 rows (1 inch) with #10 crochet cotton thread in the stated gauge
