The Twisted Peach Shawl was inspired by James and the Giant Peach. It’s delightfully twisted in the best way and every time things seem to be going smoothly, there’s a new twist that makes things interesting again. It’s the perfect combination of mindless and interesting!

The Twisted Peach Shawl pattern is an intermediate level pattern. The shaping is fairly straightforward, but it uses post stitches and requires you to be able to read your stitches.

Sample
Sample used hand dyed gradient yarn (fingering weight; 50% silk/50% yak; 645yds/150g), 645yds/150g in a peach to gold gradient

Yarn, Yardage, and Colors
The sample used 645yds/590m/150g fingering weight yarn, but can easily be adjusted to work to any size by working extra/fewer repeats. The sample is shown in fingering weight, but the pattern works well in anything from a lace to a bulky. It works best with yarns that show off texture well.

It’s designed for gradient yarns and can end on any odd-numbered row so you can use up every scrap of yarn and showcase the full range of colors in your gradient. The shawl also looks amazing in a solid, semi solid, or tonal, but I would recommend against a speckled, variegated, or tonal yarn as the texture will get lost in the colors.

Skills Required
dc, ch, post sts, counting rows and sts, crossed sts, skipping sts

Construction
The shawl is worked side-to-side to form an asymmetrical triangle.

Modifications and Adjustments
Notes are included for adjusting the following: adding/removing columns of textured sts; making the shawl bigger/smaller; moving the columns of texture further from the edge

Overview of the Finished Object
The shawl is an asymmetrical triangle. It’s fairly wide, and the point is only slightly off-center. Along the edge is two columns of textured sts in a zig zag formation.
