Twisted Pumpkin Vine Socks are a pair top-down socks knitted in the round. Starting after the cuff, the pumpkin cable continues down the leg and foot, ending before the toe. As the pumpkin cable is on the outer edge of each sock, there is a slight difference between the instructions for the left and right foot.

For me, autumn means pumpkins. I have many fond, childhood memories of helping mum harvest the bounty of home-grown pumpkins from the garden, to the smell of simmering pumpkin soup waffling from the kitchen stove on chilly, autumnal afternoons. These memories inspired the design of the Twisted Pumpkin Vine Socks.

Size:
Small (Medium, Large)
Leg Circumference: 8” (9”, 10”) / 20.5 (23, 25.5) cm
Leg Length: 6.75” (7.75”, 8.75”) / 17 (20, 23) cm

The socks are designed to be worn with approx. 1-1.5” /
2.5-3.75cm of negative ease in the foot and 1.5-2” / 3.75-5cm of negative ease in the leg. This has already been incorporated into the pattern.

Yarn Requirements:
1 skein of Hedgehog Fibres Sock (90% merino, 10% silk; 437 yards / 400 metres / 100g) in Rusty Nail

OR approx 310 (350, 420) yards / 284 (320, 384) metres of fingering weight sock yarn

Needles:
US 1.5 / 2.50 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge) 6” / 15 cm DPNs
