Pattern can be worked with any lace or light fingering yarn, but yarn should be something that will hold shape and stretch (at least a little). Samples worked on DPNs.

Twisted stitch ribbing is used in several free patterns online, so I am offering this pattern free. It is a great way to master knitting on DPNs, but could be made on circular.
