This will fit MEDIUM SIZED dogs!

I dedicate this pattern to the memory of our little Miniature Dachshund Lena, who was born October 23, 2004 and passed over the Rainbow Bridge on July 26, 2021. She was our joy, our blessing and my knitting muse. Although I originally named my shop to honor my grandmother Lena who taught me to knit when I was 4 years old, I’m rededicating it our sweet and precious little companion. She was … and will always be … much loved.

It seems that every Christmas our little Lena decides she simply must have a new sweater to welcome the new year. This year she told me she wanted me to design a VERY easy, yet quite fashionable sweater, for all the Beginner Knitter Doggie Moms out there.

So I came up with “Lena’s EZ Twisted Rib Miniature Dachshund Sweater!” Although the sweater is knit in a rib, I’ve added a twist to the traditional rib design.

The sweater is knit flat and then joined together, but if you would like to work the turtle neck collar in-the-round, I’ve included optional instructions for you to work the neck on double pointed needles … and the rest of the sweater flat.

All my Miniature Dachshund sweater designs fit all dogs around the chest circumference described. If your dog’s chest circumference is somewhere close to Lena’s, please let me know. I WILL HELP YOU MODIFY THE PATTERN TO FIT YOUR DOG! The length is entirely up to you!
