Twisted Socks
This lovely cable pattern creates a wonderfully elastic sock. Perfect for slim or wide legs. The cables keep the cuff up, but do not restrict circulation. Easy enough even for knitters who have not attempted cables or socks before.
My own legs are very wide, often swollen and tender, so I knit my socks for maximal comfort.
Slim cables on this socks make wider legs look slimmer.
This is the pattern for people, whom socks from average sock patterns fit well. I knit my pair of socks using Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Stärke 6 a six ply sport weight yarn, thicker than the regular fingering weight sock yarn. My Son’s pair is made with “regular” 4 ply Regia that has been quietly aging in my stash for about 10 years. Here I give a pattern for usual sock yarn. Personal adjustments section at the end of the pattern gives variations and adjustments for wider legs.
