Gauge listed is for the 4.25 mm hook, the bigger sizes uses a 5 mm hook. The gauge is as follows: 7 stitches x 6 rows = 2 inches

Sizing:
SM/MED: Base of hand measures between 6.5 and 8 inches around, wrist measures 5 to 6.5 inches around
MED/LG: Base of hand measures between 7.5 and 9 inches around, wrist measures 6.5 to 8 inches around

Even for the larger size, you will use less than 130 yards of sport weight yarn if your gauge matches.
