Twisty Baby Booties
Soft and cozy, these cabled crochet booties worked in the round whip up in a snap to keep little toes warm and stylish. The fold down cuff shows off the crochet cabling and stops baby from kicking them off. Inspired by the newest little addition to my own family, these booties are a perfect last minute baby shower gift!
The bootie is worked in the round from the sole up to the cuff, joining at the end of each round so that the seam goes up the back of the heel, eliminating the need for extra sewing. Before starting the cabled cuff, you will turn (essentially reversing the right and wrong sides) so that when you fold down the cuff, the right side is showing. The cables are created using post stitches (full photo tutorial included). If you’ve never made crochet cables, I will walk you through it!
This pattern is written using standard US terminology and abbreviations. Photo tutorials are included for the more advanced stitches and trickier pattern steps.
Stitches: sc, hdc, dc, post stitches, reverse sc (tutorial included)
Techniques: working in the ‘third loop’ of hdc (tutorial included), working in the back loop only, crochet cables (tutorial included)
