Who doesn’t love an owl? I wanted a pattern for an owl but with a bit of a different twist which is why I designed this pattern to be made up of lots of little sections. I think this works really well with the mosaic style of crocheting.

The pattern is written in US English terms and assumes knowledge of the basic crochet stitches (slip stitch, chain, single crochet, double crochet). The pattern includes beginner friendly instructions on how to do the overlay mosaic technique as well as the envelope border. The pattern itself is provided in both written and chart format.

Crochet Terms: US
Yarn: Any (the pictured example is made with Stylecraft Special DK in navy and Stylecraft Wondersoft Merry Go Round in rainbow on a 4mm hook and the final piece is 168cm x 116cm
Quantity of Yarn: 7 skeins | 2100m of the main colour (navy) | 8 skeins | 2600m of the contrast colour (rainbow).
Hook Size: appropriate for the yarn chosen
Skill: Intermediate
Additional Materials: A hook 1 size (0.5mm) down from your main hook to create the border.
