I don’t know how it happened, but Carriage Sets for wee ones seem to have gone out of favour these past years. I think it is time for a Carriage Set come-back! The weather still turns chilly in the fall. In spring of the year little ones need warm outfits to keep the damp away.

T’witt T’woo is a modern version of the very practical Vintage ensemble. Owl Cables ring the base of the shoulder saddled jacket. One owl perches on the hat, and tassels mimic owlish ear tufts. How cute is that?!

Rope or braided cables travel along the arms & legs, and border the double breasted closure. The double moss stitch adds texture for extra insulation. I designed the leggings to have a fold back cuff to extend the wear time. Also, since this pattern is sized for bairns on the brink of walking, shoes or boots can be worn for those wonderful beginning steps.

Size: fits 9-18 months, finished chest measurement of jacket is 55 cm. (21.5 in)
The 3 piece Blue set was made with 400 g of Stylecraft Pure Wool DK.
The 2 piece (jacket and leggings) brown set was made with 400 g of Patons Diploma Gold DK in chestnut.
One 50 g ball (137m/142yds) will make the hat.
6 buttons as required for the jacket.
The ribbon is optional, but adds a feminine touch if the set is for a girl.

The pattern is for all three pieces and is written out but has charts for the cables included.
Options include either braided or classic rope cables.
