Skills required:
The pattern does not provide “How to” on crochet and knitting stitches. Basic crochet and knitting skills required.
To work this pattern you need to know how to work in a spiral, in rows, in turning joined rounds, sc, hdc, dc, increase and decrease.
The pattern calls for extended single crochet (exsc), extended signle crochet increase and extended single crochet decrease (the detailed instructions with helpful pictures are provided). However, you can work hdc instead of exsc (just replace exsc with hdc, exsc inc with hdc inc, exsc dec with hdc dec).
The only part of the pattern that is knitted is the hat. It is worked flat on two knitting needles. You can do without it at all.
