The cowl TWO DROPPED STITCHES is a modification of my pattern THE DROPPED STITCH, a huge colourful Fair Isle shawl. It´s made for those of you who love the idea but don´t want to knit such a big project – or fear to cut a steek.
You knit stockinette stitch in the round with two colours following different – easy – charts that result into that big all-over motiv with two dropped stitches.
The cowl shows off the beauty of a selfstriping yarn on a solid background. Choose two of your favourite colours and a yarn you love to wear close to your neck. You will need appr. 500 meters for the background and 400 meters for the motifs.
Because the cowl is knit in the round – there are hardly any purl stitches – just a few ones in the hem. The cowl is pretty wide, so feel free to adjust and customize it to your personal needs by omitting a pattern repeat in width and/or legth – or adding more repeats - please have a look at all the versions my wonderful testknitters made !

Der Cowl TWO DROPPED STITCHES ist eine Abwandlung meines Tuches THE DROPPED STITCH, einem großen, farbenfrohen Fair Isle Tuch. Es ist für diejenigen gedacht, denen die Idee gefällt, die aber nicht so ein großes Tuch stricken möchten oder sich davor scheuen, einen Steek zu stricken und aufzuschneiden.
Er wird aus zwei Garnen in der Fair Isle Technik in Runden gestrickt – fast ausschließlich rechts, nur für die kurzen Bündchen sind einige linke Maschen nötig. Verschiedene – einfache – Charts bilden zusammengesetzt das große Motiv mit zwei Fallmaschen.
Wähle zwei Garne in Deinen Lieblingsfarben aus einem Garn, dass Du problemlos am Hals tragen kannst. Es werden ca. 500 Meter für den Hintergrund und 400 Meter für das Motiv benötigt. Das Original ist groß und weit – durch Weglassen von Rapporten kann die Größe leicht angepasst werden - so wie es auch viele meiner wunderbaren Testknitter getan haben.
