Two Hour Felted Slippers
Felted ballet flats. Knit in one piece with minimal seaming.
These are great to take along on your travels: They are cozy and soft and they pack small. As there is very little seaming, I find that I can knit them up in about two hours.
The satin ribbon edge is optional. I quite like it: It’s fun to play with the colour combinations, it gives the slippers elegance, and it will also prevent the edge from stretching out.
Material
• 2 balls Pro Lana felting yarn, 50 m (55 yd) / 50 gr per ball, or similar felting yarn. You could also use worsted weight feltable yarn and knit with two strands.
• 10 mm (US 15) circular needle, or double-pointed needles
• Tapestry needle
• For the satin edge: Satin ribbon, about 16 mm (roughly 3/4 in) wide, in a matching or contrasting colour. I use 1 metre (approx. 3.3 ft) for a pair of size L slippers. Thin sewing needle and thread.
Gauge
About 8 st and 12 rows to 10 x 10 cm (4 in). Gauge is not too terribly important, as you will felt the slippers to your size.
