Two tweed skirts worked from the same pattern, but with a different impression because of the edging.
Construction:
The red skirt begins with the striped garter stitch band, then stitches are knitted up along the edge of the band, and from here the skirt is worked bottom up.
The grey skirt is worked bottom up all along and with a slip stitch edging.
Sizes: XS (S, M, L)
Will fit hip size 90 (94, 98, 102) cm / approx. 36 (37.5, 39, 40.5) inches.
Sample is shown in size S on hip size 94 cm.
Choose a hip size 1-2 cm smaller than your actual size.
Finished measurements:
waist 73 (77, 81, 85) cm / approx. 29 (30.5, 32, 34) inches before fitting in an elastic
hip 89 (93, 97, 101) cm / approx. 35.5 ( 37, 38.5, 40) inches
length from top of waist to hem 48 cm / approx. 19 inches
Yarn:
DK weight.
Both skirts are worked in Rowan Felted Tweed (50 g/175 m).
For the red skirt was used colour Rage and Tawny:
MC 150 (150, 200, 200) g/ 525 (525, 700, 700) m, CC 50 g/175 m.
For the grey skirt was used colour carbon, jaffa, gilt and stone:
MC 200 (200, 200, 250) g/ 700 (700, 700, 875) m, CC 50 g/175 m in each colour.
Gauge:
22 sts and 32 rounds = 10 cm in stocking stich
22 sts and 44 rows = 10 cm in garter stitch pattern.
25 sts = 10 cm in linen stitch pattern
Needle size:
3.5 mm: circular 60 cm for both skirts; double pointed for red skirt; crochet hook for crochet chain provisional cast on for red skirt.
Accessories:
Waste yarn for provisional cast on.
Waist length of 2 cm wide elastic for skirt waist.
