Two of Hearts Bag
Heart motifs are so on trend and fluffy
bags are always a fun statement
accessory, so what’s better than
combining both? The Two of Hearts bag
is a compact but roomy handbag that’s
perfect for kids and adults alike, and a
lot of fun to make! This bag is perfect
for intermediate-level crocheters who
want to experiment with texture and
discover fun fur yarn whilst making a
cute accessory that makes a great gift.
Yarn & Materials:
200g (one ball each of 100g in two contrasting colours) of Bulky fun-fur yarn that works
to the approximate gauge of 9 stitches, 15 rows to 10 cm/4”. Gauge is not very
important in this pattern as the crocheted fabric forms a tight material using the
recommended hook size.
This yarn is enough to make TWO bags.
To make two bags (including heart motifs) you will need 130 m (142 yds) of yarn.
I used Hobbii Peacock in the shades Red (06) and Pink (07).
4.5 mm (for heart motif) and 6mm hook (for the bag body).
Scissors, large-eyed yarn needle, tape measure,
OPTIONAL: magnetic snap button for closure.
Skills & Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
Sl st = slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
You will need basic sewing skills for seaming the bag and attaching the optional
magnetic snap button. You will also need to follow a basic crochet chart for the heart
motif.
