These flip top mittens can be worn as fingerless or full mittens. The polar bear hides when worn as fingerless but appears when worn as mittens. (The face is visible by the wearer and the buttons don’t scratch touched items.)
Twisted cord loops securely hold the flip top yet become ears when unbuttoned.
Three sizes are included and are listed by age (1-3, 3-6, 7-10 years old) and by measurements.
Any yarn that will created a comfortable fabric with 5.5 stitches per inch will work. I used wool so they will keep the child warm even when wet.
I managed to get all three pairs, one in each size out of one skein and had a little left over. This yarn is delightfully soft yet thick and warm.
