This double knit, reversible sheepy cowl can be knit with either light worsted weight or DK. In the cowl shown, the yarn used was Prism Symphony (in color 601 and Agean). It is fairly loose fitting, and tall enough that it covers the wearer’s chin.

This cowl was meant as a Second Steps in Double Knitting Project, teaching double knit decreases, along with reinforcing double knit techniques in the round.

Gauge is not set in stone……but remember that the finished size will be affected by a looser or tighter gauge.

Also in the cowl shown…I “stuffed” the top row of sheep with little bits of polyfil to fluff them out. It was an experiment, and I don’t think I would do it again. :)

Errata: the symbol for the decreases is the symbol normally used for K2tog, instead of the SSK, that is requested on the legend of this pattern. Truly, it doesn’t matter which dec you use……if you just can’t make a ssk, looking at a K2tog symbol--do what you have to do!
