For this baby cardigan, I used several of my favorite sweater design elements - bottom-up seamless construction, raglan shoulder shaping, and garter stitch borders. The body of the cardigan is worked back and forth on one circular needle and the sleeves are worked in the round, then the pieces are joined and worked together. The only “seams” are a few underarm stitches that are grafted together once the sweater is finished. The body has a slight A-line shape to accommodate diapers, and I left the sleeves wide enough to be rolled up if needed. I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream yarn since it’s sturdy, machine-washable, and I happened to have plenty on hand, but feel free to use any soft, worsted-weight yarn that you prefer.
