These Two Tone striped mitts are worked in a 4ply yarn, Spindrift, from Jamiesons of Shetland which is 100% pure Shetland wool. Other 4ply yarns may be substituted but may not give the same result.

The mitts are worked flat in alternate colour stripes and we suggest carrying the non working yarn up the sides to reduce sewing in of ends. The thumb is also worked flat after the main body of the mitt is complete.

The pattern is quite straightforward and designed for all knitters, but absolute beginners will need to have some guidance from a friend!

The mitts are designed to fit an average female adult hand, with some slight positive ease. I designed them to be useful and unbulky and leave your fingers free in cold weather whilst keeping your hands and wrists warm.

I hope you enjoy making up this pattern. Happy knitting!
