Two Variations of Filet Crochet Shawls
I believe that filet crochet is the epitome of crochet lace, and it is exciting when the pattern is completed according to the design.
Based on such filet crochet, I crocheted a triangular shawl that increases the number of stitches in the center.
This pattern includes two design choices.
At first, I was crocheting a triangular shawl with no design, but I wanted to add a design, so I crocheted the two patterns in the image.
The design is symmetrical with the center line where the number of stitches is increased.
If you take a break after crocheting the center stitches, and look back at the way you’ve crocheted, it’s efficient because you’ll be able to spot any mistakes early on.
I remember that I almost never discovered a mistake in the previous row because the pattern did not match when I was crocheting the next row.
For this work, I used about lace yarn to make the design look delicate.
The yarn I used is ISAGER ALPACA 1, which has nice color variations and is soft to the touch.
After wondering what color to choose, I chose a cute color I picked up at the store.
Even though it is thin, it is easy to crochet, and it has a fluffy and light finish.
For the fall and winter season scrolls that touch your neck and face, please look for your favorite yarn that feels good to the touch.
By the way, I used slightly thicker summer yarn for the shawl that I did filet crochet without a design before I crocheted these sample works.
Roughly simple shawls for spring and summer look easy to use, so I think there’s a different kind of fun.
It takes some time to crochet with thin yarn while checking the design, but the crocheting method itself is not very difficult.
And the good thing about triangular shawls is that thanks to this shape, you can complete about two-thirds of the way quickly.
Once you’ve reached this point, the design becomes more visible and serves as motivation to finish the remaining third.
When you’re nearing completion, it’s fun to check the progress by putting it on clothes that contrast with the color of the crocheted fabric.
Why not add this shawl to your crochet collection?
