This shawl was designed for a very special bride: Karida, of Neighborhood Fiber Company. She’s non-traditional in every sense of the word, so I felt a non-traditional lace design would fit her the best. She chose the colorway (it matches her tulle!) and left everything else up to me. Upon hearing of this, my sister (also non-traditional) asked me to knit one for her wedding, too.

Finished Size: 21”x63” once wet blocked.

Yarn: Neighborhood Fiber Company Maisonette Lace, 50% Superwash Merino, 50% silk. Sample knit in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Sample used approximately 800 yards.

Needles: 24” or longer circular needle, size 4 US (3.5mm), or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 4.5 stitches per inch in wet-blocked stockinette stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage and drape.

Notions: Size 6/0 beads and a small crochet hook for beading. Stitch markers as desired. Darning needle for weaving in ends.
