Twofold Celtic Knot Blanket
This pattern create a blanket with a Celtic Knot from granny squares.
The knot can be made using two colours or one, with a contrasting colour needed for the background.
Patterns with charts are provided for all components of the blanket.
The knot has to be made in solid granny squares.
Patterns are given for a variation of the solid granny square for the background, as in the pictured blanket, but there are also solid granny square versions of the shapes needed for those who would prefer to use solid granny squares for the whole blanket.
The pictured border was made with the available yarn but with more yarn it would be possible to add more of the first or second style bands and to choose you own colour mix. Instructions are included for those who wish to do this.
The pictured blanket was made in the yarn specified above but it would be possible to use any weight yarn but this would obviously affect the size and the amount of yarn needed.
The blanket was made with a 4.5mm hook but for most people the equivalent dimensions would probably be achieved with a 3.5mm hook. Tension/gauge is not critical but if the squares are larger than specified, you will use more yarn.
One of the solid granny squares square measured 4.25ins (11cm) from side to side and 6ins (15cm) from corner to corner.
The finished size of the blanket was as given above.
The blanket as pictured used most of four 100g balls of the green yarn, three 100g balls of the blue yarn and six balls of the grey yarn.
