This cowl has quite a funny back story. This quirky knit derived from a picture my 8 year old daughter drew of two cats bordered by flowers. She asked me if I could turn it into a new winter scarf for her (and yes, that meant I had to make sure that one of the cats in the knit was in a wheelchair to keep consistent with the drawing!)
This was quite a challenge being as she used may colors and one had to be a girl, one a boy and yes, one in a wheelchair (thank goodness for embroidery)! She narrowed her request down to allow me to knit the cats in pink and blue and the flowers in green and pink… the embroidery was a little more flexible!
This pattern is knit using Sport and Dk weight yarns and written using the simple two color scheme with embroidery and finish work as an add on option. It is knit as a long tube and sewn together at the end to close off the ends making this a long cowl ideal fr wrapping and doubling up keeping your neck extra warm. Colorwork is chart only!
If you are a cat lover and like having fun while you knit, this is the project for you!
